Continues to add to TD tally
Mateer was 17-for-34 passing for 245 yards, one touchdown and one interception during Saturday's 24-19 win against Washington. He also had 16 rushes for 62 yards with two touchdowns.
ANALYSIS
The sophomore already has 11 touchdowns on the season in the first three games. It was an impressive outing for Mateer against their rival and he did it with his arm. In the previous week the sophomore only threw 115 passing yards while rushing for 197 yards in the loss against Texas Tech. He might have a tougher time on Sept. 20 against San Jose State whose defense is in the top quarter in the country against both the run and pass. But the Spartans have not faced quality competition while going undefeated 3-0.
