ANALYSISCoach Matt LaFleur said recently that the Packers would deploy a rotation at safety next to locked-in starter
Xavier McKinney, but that hasn't prevented Bullard from retaining a strong grip on first-team reps. LaFleur's comments about a safety rotation could have less to do with Bullard's ability to contribute as an immediate starter and more to do with his versatility to switch between safety and man-coverage, or even his potential to take reps in the slot. To kick off training camp, Bullard was considered in the "pole position" to earn a starting safety role alongside McKinney, per
Matt Schneidman of The Athletic, and his recent performance at practice seems to further support that notion.
