Nuggets Pull Comeback To Defeat Cavaliers
The Denver Nuggets defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers, 115-109, at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse on Thursday.

The Nuggets (42-18) and the Cavaliers (38-24) played a tight game between two contenders, but in the end, Denver prevailed thanks to a comeback in the fourth quarter. The Nuggets looked good in the start of the contest and jumped out to a 31-26 score in the first quarter, but the Cavaliers didn’t go down without a fight and responded with a 31-25 score in the second quarter. Cleveland were leading by one point at the break and kept themselves on top after the third quarter following a 34-33 score, but the Nuggets pulled the comeback in the final 12 minutes with a 26-18 score, aided by a dominant performance from Nikola Jokic. With the win, the Nuggets moved to 15-14 on the road, while the Cavaliers fell to 25-7 at home.

Michael Porter Jr. was the leading scorer for the Nuggets and finished with 25 points and six rebounds, while Nikola Jokic ended with another triple-double after posting 24 points, 18 rebounds and 13 assists. Jamal Murray finished with 16 points and nine assists, and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope delivered 17 points, three rebounds, two assists, three steals and two blocks. Vlatko Cancar had 10 points, and Jeff Green had 11 points.

Evan Mobley led the way for the Cavaliers with 31 points and nine rebounds, while both Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland recorded matching 22-point tallies. Mitchell also had four steals, three rebounds and three assists, and Garland also had five assists with two steals. Jarrett Allen had a double-double of 14 points and 13 rebounds.

Celtics Top Pacers Following Overtime
The Boston Celtics defeated the Indiana Pacers, 142-138, in overtime at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Thursday.

The Celtics (43-17) and the Pacers (26-35) delivered an impressive performance Thursday, and these two teams needed five more minutes to find a winner, but in the end, Boston sealed the win to continue as one of the top teams in The Association. Boston looked good in the early going and jumped out to a 34-31 score in the first quarter, and the Celtics made it a double-digit game since they were leading by 10 points at the halftime break. The Pacers responded with a 39-32 score in the third quarter and kept things close, ultimately forcing an overtime following a 28-25 score in the final 12 minutes. The Pacers were carrying the momentum entering overtime, but the Celtics won the final five-minute period by a 17-13 score, mostly thanks to four points from Jayson Tatum in the final 60 seconds. With the win, Boston moved to 19-10 on the road, while the Pacers fell to 18-15 at home.

Jayson Tatum led the way for the Celtics with 31 points, 12 rebounds, seven assists and two steals, while Jaylen Brown posted 30 points, 11 rebounds and three assists. Marcus Smart had a strong game and finished with 15 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals, and Malcolm Brogdon had an impressive game off the bench with 24 points, seven assists, five boards and two steals. Derrick White had 17 points off the bench.

Myles Turner was the best player for the Pacers and finished with 40 points, 10 rebounds and two assists, while Tyrese Haliburton recorded 22 points, 14 assists, three steals and two blocks. Buddy Hield finished with 18 points and five rebounds. Bennedict Mathurin had a strong game off the bench with 19 points, seven rebounds, four assists and two steals.

Magic Squeaks by Pistons, 108-106
The Orlando Magic defeated the Detroit Pistons, 108-106, at Amway Center on Thursday night.

The Magic (25-35) encountered a feisty Pistons (15-45) squad early, with Orlando only holding a two-point lead after one and a one-point advantage going into the final period. The game fittingly came down to the wire, with Detroit's Jaden Ivey tying the game via a clutch three-point basket with five seconds remaining before Wendell Carter sealed the victory for the hosts with a buzzer-beating tip-in.

Ivey led the Pistons with 25 points, adding four assists, two rebounds and one block. Alec Burks contributed 16 points, five boards, three assists, two steals and one block. Killian Hayes and Hamidou Diallo provided matching 12-point, three-rebound tallies, with Hayes adding five assists and Diallo also notching two steals. Isaiah Stewart supplied 10 points, eight rebounds, two assists and one block.

Franz Wagner paced the Magic with 21 points, supplementing them with five rebounds and one assist. Cole Anthony registered 15 points, four boards and four assists. Markelle Fultz totaled 14 points, eight assists, two rebounds, two steals and one block. Carter generated a 14-point, 14-rebound double-double that included two assists, two blocks and one steal. Gary Harris posted 12 points as well and also recorded two assists and two steals. Paolo Banchero offered 11 points, six rebounds and six assists. Jonathan Isaac managed 10 points, seven rebounds, one assist, two steals and one block.

The Pistons return home to host the Toronto Raptors on Saturday afternoon, while the Magic remains home and hosts the Indiana Pacers on Saturday night.

76ers Top Grizzlies, 110-105
The Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Memphis Grizzlies, 110-105, at Wells Fargo Center on Thursday night.

The Grizzlies (35-23) couldn't have asked for a better start to the interconference clash, as they owned a 37-22 lead after one. The 76ers (39-19) did manage to make a nine-point dent in their deficit over the middle quarters, however, and although they trailed by four as late as the 1:47 mark, a 10-1 run by Philadelphia in the final 1:24 sealed the comeback victory for the hosts.

Desmond Bane led the Grizzlies with 25 points, supplementing them with eight rebounds and two assists. Jaren Jackson furnished 18 points, nine boards, one assist, four blocks and one steal. Ja Morant delivered 15 points, five assists, three rebounds and two steals. Dillon Brooks registered 11 points, five rebounds and two assists.

James Harden paced the 76ers with 31 points, complementing them with seven rebounds, seven assists, two blocks and one steal. Joel Embiid generated a 27-point, 19-rebound double-double that included six assists, six blocks and one steal. Tobias Harris turned in 20 points, four rebounds, two assists and one block. Tyrese Maxey contributed 16 points, four assists and two rebounds.

The Grizzlies return home to host the Denver Nuggets on Saturday night, while the 76ers remain home and host the Boston Celtics on Saturday night as well.

Raptors Hold Off Pelicans For Third Straight Win
The Toronto Raptors defeated the visiting New Orleans Pelicans, 115-110, at Scotiabank Arena on Thursday evening.

The game got out to a close start but the Raptors held onto a four-point lead after one quarter. The pace picked up in the second but the hosts stayed in control and pushed their lead to nine by halftime. Both sides came out strong in the third quarter but the Pelicans had no answers as the hosts pushed it to a 15-point game heading into the final quarter. The visitors turned it up in the fourth and outscored the Raptors by 10 points in the quarter but it was not enough as the Raptors held on for their third straight win. This marks the second consecutive loss for the Pelicans.

Pascal Siakam led the Raptors with 26 points, four rebounds and five assists, in 38 minutes. Jakob Poeltl followed up with 21 points, 18 rebounds, two assists, three steals and a block, while Scottie Barnes tallied 18 points, five rebounds, three assists, three steals and a block. The Raptors shot 46 percent from the field, including 9-of-31 from long range.

Brandon Ingram led the Pelicans with 36 points, seven rebounds and three assists, in 36 minutes. CJ McCollum followed up with 23 points, four rebounds and five assists, while Jonas Valanciunas finished with 12 points, 12 rebounds and two assists. The Pelicans shot 46 percent from the field, including 13-of-30 from deep.

The Pelicans (30-30) will look to bounce back as they take on the Knicks in New York on Saturday. The Raptors (29-31) clash with the Pistons in Detroit on Saturday.

Mavs Roll Past Spurs
The Dallas Mavericks defeated the visiting San Antonio Spurs, 142-116, at American Airlines Center on Thursday evening.

The Mavs jumped out to a strong start with a, 34-26, lead after one quarter. Both sides picked up the pace in the second, but the hosts stayed in control and pushed it to an 11-point game by halftime. The Spurs came out stronger in the third and outscored the Mavs by two, to make it a nine-point game heading into the final frame. The Mavericks did not take any chances down the stretch and outscored the visitors, 43-26, to run away with the home win. This marks the 15th consecutive loss for the Spurs.

Luka Doncic led the Mavs with 28 points, seven rebounds, 10 assists, two steals and two blocks, in 29 minutes. Kyrie Irving followed up with 23 points, six assists and a steal, while Tim Hardaway added 22 points on 7-of-12 shooting. The Mavs shot 56 percent from the field, including 22-of-42 from long range.

Meanwhile, Malaki Branham led the Spurs with 23 points, two rebounds and five assists, in 35 minutes. Keldon Johnson followed up with 22 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and a steal, while Charles Bassey tallied 16 points, seven rebounds, two assists and a steal. The Spurs shot 52 percent from the field, including 10-of-25 from deep.

The Spurs (14-46) will look to end the slide as they take on the Jazz in Utah on Saturday. The Mavericks (32-29) play host to the Lakers on Sunday.

Jazz Defeat Thunder in OT, 120-119
The Utah Jazz defeated the visiting Oklahoma City Thunder in overtime, 120-119, at Vivint Arena on Thursday.

While there were only six ties and seven lead changes in this game, it took an overtime session to determine a winner. In fact, neither team led by more than 10 points in this game, with Oklahoma City holding the lead for the entirety of the second half. Utah's only lead over the closing 30 minutes came with 4.6 seconds left in the overtime, with Lauri Markkanen knocking down three free-throws to grab Utah the win. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander missed a banker at the buzzer that spun in and out of the basket. Utah's rim protection was the difference, recording 10 blocks while Oklahoma City had just three. The Jazz also out-rebounded the Thunder, 72-62.

The Thunder (28-30) were led by SGA, accruing 39 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and two steals. Josh Giddey generated 18 points, 11 rebounds, three assists and two steals. Luguentz Dort had 11 points, 11 rebounds and four assists, while Kenrich Williams led the bench with 16 points, four rebounds and three assists.

The Jazz (30-31) were led by Lauri Markkanen, finishing with 43 points, 10 rebounds and three assists. Jordan Clarkson collected 24 points, four rebounds and six assists. Kelly Olynyk totaled 12 points, seven rebounds, three assists and two steals, while Talen Horton-Tucker tallied nine points, seven rebounds, six assists and two steals. Walker Kessler rounded out the starting unit with seven points, 18 rebounds and seven blocks.

Oklahoma City has to play the second half of a back-to-back set on Friday, traveling to face the Phoenix Suns. As for Utah, they return to action on Saturday in a home matchup with the San Antonio Spurs.

Lakers Defeat Warriors, 124-111
The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the visiting Golden State Warriors, 124-111, at Crypto.com Arena on Thursday.

A 31-23 first quarter carried Los Angeles to this easy win, maintaining the lead for the final three quarters. They put things away behind a 36-24 third quarter, getting their lead up to 28 points at times. They also led by at least 15 points for the whole of the fourth quarter. The Lakers shot 49 percent from the field and 53 percent from three-point range while holding the Warriors to 38 percent from the field and 29 percent from long range. Los Angeles also out-rebounded Golden State, 69-54, while outscoring them in fastbreak points, 29-8.

The Warriors (29-30) were led by Klay Thompson, totaling 22 points, two rebounds and two steals. Jordan Poole provided 16 points, four assists and two steals. Draymond Green collected six points, 11 rebounds and five assists, while Ty Jerome led the bench with 20 points, two rebounds and three assists. Kevon Looney also amassed 10 points and 15 rebounds off the pine.

The Lakers (28-32) were led by Malik Beasley, scoring 25 points to go along with three rebounds and three steals. LeBron James shot just 5-of-20 but finished with 13 points, nine rebounds and eight assists. Anthony Davis accrued 12 points, 12 rebounds and two blocks. Austin Reaves led the bench with 17 points, two rebounds, four assists and two steals, while Mo Bamba had 10 points and 13 boards.

Golden State has to play again on Friday, returning home to play the Houston Rockets. As for Los Angeles, they return to action on Sunday in a road matchup with the Dallas Mavericks.

Kings Defeat Trail Blazers, 133-116
The Sacramento Kings defeated the visiting Portland Trail Blazers, 133-116, at Golden 1 Center on Thursday.

While Portland held the lead for the opening 20 minutes of this game, Sacramento never relinquished the lead in the second half after a 37-20 second quarter. Sacramento rode a 33-25 fourth quarter to their blowout, maintaining a double-digit lead for the closing 11 minutes. Sacramento shot 54 percent from the field while holding Portland to 46 percent shooting. The Kings also out-rebounded the Trail Blazers, 53-40, while outscoring them in the paint, 56-44.

The Trail Blazers (28-31) played this game without Damian Lillard, Jusuf Nurkic, Anfernee Simons and Jerami Grant. They were led by Nassir Little, collecting 26 points, three rebounds, two assists and four steals. Cam Reddish registered 24 points, four rebounds, four assists and two steals. Trendon Watford led the bench with 15 points, three rebounds and four assists.

The Kings (33-25) were led by De'Aaron Fox, finishing with 31 points, three rebounds and three assists on 11-of-15 from the field. Domantas Sabonis collected 18 points, 18 rebounds, 10 assists and three steals. Harrison Barnes had 15 points, three rebounds and two assists, while Terence Davis led the bench with 20 points, four rebounds and two assists.

Sacramento has to play the second half of a back-to-back set on Friday, traveling to face the Los Angeles Clippers. As for Portland, they're off until Sunday, playing host to the Houston Rockets.
