James Scores 40 To Lead Lakers In OKC
The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the host Oklahoma City Thunder, 129-120, at Paycom Center on Saturday evening.

LeBron James poured in a season-high 40 points to lead the Lakers to the road win. The game got out to a high-scoring start as the Thunder led, 39-36, after one quarter. The Lakers turned it up a notch in the second and outscored the hosts, 35-20, to claim a 12-point lead at halftime. Both sides brought a high-powered effort in the third, but the visitors maintained the upper hand, pushing their cushion up to 16, heading into the final frame. The Thunder cut the deficit to single digits mid way through the quarter, but the Lakers held on to snap a four-game slide. This also marks the end of a three-game win streak for the Thunder.

James tallied seven rebounds, seven assists, two steals and two blocks, along with his game-high 40 points, in 37 minutes of action. Anthony Davis followed up with 26 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists, a steal and a two blocks, while Rui Hachimura tallied 21 points, six rebounds, two assists and a steal.

Meanwhile, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the Thunder with 34 points, five rebounds, seven assists and three steals, in 38 minutes. Jalen Williams followed up with 28 points, six rebounds and three assists, while Chet Holmgren logged 19 points, 10 rebounds, a steal and three blocks.

The Thunder (18-9) will look to bounce back as they play host to the Timberwolves on Tuesday. The Lakers (16-14) play host to the Celtics on Christmas Day.
