Heat Gets Past Hornets, 111-105
The Miami Heat defeated the Charlotte Hornets, 111-105, at Spectrum Center on Tuesday night.

The Hornets (3-7) came into the contest as home underdogs, but they played like favorites while jumping out to a 32-24 lead through one. However, the Heat (7-4) would alter the dynamic of the game for good in the second, outscoring Charlotte by a 33-16 score to take a relatively comfortable nine-point advantage into halftime. Miami then managed to hold off its hosts in the second half, sealing the hard-fought road win with the help of Jimmy Butler's quartet of free throws.

Butler led the Heat with 32 points, adding five assists, four rebounds and two steals. Bam Adebayo generated a 21-point, 11-rebound double-double that included four assists, three steals and one block. Duncan Robinson furnished 18 points, eight boards, five assists, one steal and one block. Jaime Jaquez contributed 17 points, five rebounds and one assist. Haywood Highsmith delivered 12 points, four rebounds, two assists, five steals and two blocks.

P.J. Washington paced the Hornets with 32 points, complementing them with six rebounds and one assist. LaMelo Ball generated a 28-point, 11-assist double-double that included six rebounds and three steals. Bryce McGowens supplied 12 points, four rebounds, one assist and one steal. Mark Williams registered 11 points, seven rebounds and one steal.

The Heat returns to action Thursday night at home against the Brooklyn Nets, while the Hornets remain home and host the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday night.
