Lakers Defeat Trail Blazers, 107-95
The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the host Portland Trail Blazers, 107-95, in Group Play of the NBA In-Season Tournament at Moda Center on Friday.

The Lakers started this game on a 16-6 run, winning in wire-to-wire fashion. They got their lead up to 17 points at times, with Portland never attempting a game-tying shot over the closing 20 minutes. The Lakers shot 49 percent from the field and 40 percent from three-point range while holding the Trail Blazers to 40 percent from the field and 27 percent from long range. Los Angeles also out-assisted Portland, 27-17, while outscoring them in the paint, 50-42.

The Lakers (7-6) were led by LeBron James, collecting 35 points, five rebounds, nine assists and two steals. Anthony Davis tallied 16 points, 14 rebounds, two assists, three steals and five blocks. D'Angelo Russell registered 14 points, three rebounds and six assists, while Christian Wood led the bench with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

The Trail Blazers (3-9) were led by Jerami Grant, finishing with 24 points, four rebounds and three assists. DeAndre Ayton amassed 17 points, 12 rebounds, two assists and two steals. Shaedon Sharpe had 17 points, nine rebounds, two assists and 10 turnovers. Skylar Mays totaled 15 points, five rebounds, eight assists and two steals.

Both teams return to action on Sunday, with Los Angeles returning home to play the Houston Rockets and Portland staying home to face the Oklahoma City Thunder.
