Pelicans Come Up Clutch For Road Win
The New Orleans Pelicans defeated the host San Antonio Spurs, 114-113, at Frost Bank Arena on Friday evening.

The Spurs jumped out to a great start and led 33-24, after one quarter. The Pelicans turned up their play in the second, but the Spurs kept pace and maintained a seven-point lead at the break. The visitors continued with the momentum in the third and managed to tie it up at 88, entering the final frame. The score stayed tight through the fourth and after a couple of lead changes, the Pelicans came out on top thanks to a bucket from Zion Williamson with 3.1 seconds left on the clock. This marks the second straight win for the Pelicans and the third straight loss for the Spurs.

Zion Williamson led the Pelicans with 33 points, eight rebounds four assists, a steal and a block, in 36 minutes of action. C.J. McCollum followed up with 21 points, four rebounds, four assists, a steal and a block, while Brandon Ingram tallied 19 points, four rebounds, six assists, two steals and a block.

Meanwhile, Devin Vassell led the Spurs with 28 points, three rebounds, three assists and a block, in 36 minutes. Tre Jones followed up with 20 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and a block, while Victor Wembanyama totaled 16 points, 14 rebounds, seven assists, two steals and three blocks.

The Spurs (10-39) will look to bounce back as they play host to the Cavs on Saturday. The Pelicans (28-21) play host to the Raptors on Monday.
