Sixers Pull Comeback To Defeat Nets
The Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Brooklyn Nets, 101-98, at Barclays Center on Saturday.

The 76ers (36-19) had to work hard to get the win against the new-look Nets (33-23), and in fact, they erased a 12-point second-half deficit to sneak away with the win. It wasn’t easy, though, as Brooklyn got off to a stronger start and looked better during the entire first half, racing out to a 28-26 lead in the first quarter and bolstering that advantage following a 32-26 score in the second quarter. However, the Sixers began to show signs of a comeback in the third quarter following a 24-22 score, but at one point, the Nets still held a 12-point lead. The tables turned in the final minutes, though, and the duo of James Harden and Joel Embiid carried the Sixers to a comeback win following a 25-16 score in the final 12 minutes of action. The Nets could’ve sent the game to overtime, but Spencer Dinwiddie’s three-point attempt with the clock expiring was a bit late. With the win, the Sixers moved to 15-11 on the road, while the Nets fell to 17-11 at home.

Joel Embiid and James Harden led the way for the Sixers, but it was a true two-man show for Philadelphia. Embiid finished with 37 points, 13 rebounds, two assists and two steals, while James Harden ended up with 29 points, six rebounds and six assists. No other Philadelphia starter scored more than three points, and Tobias Harris particularly struggled with a 1-for-9 night from the field. Tyrese Maxey had 12 points off the bench.

Mikal Bridges had 23 points and six rebounds in his Brooklyn debut, while Cam Johnson had 12 points, seven rebounds, three assists and three steals in his debut as well. Spencer Dinwiddie had nine points, six rebounds and six assists. Joe Harris had 18 points while going 6-for-9 from three-point range. Cam Thomas had 14 points off the bench as well.
