Timberwolves Hold Off Suns In Minnesota
The Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the visiting Phoenix Suns, 121-116, at Target Center on Friday evening.

The Timberwolves got out to a strong start and led, 35-25, after one quarter and kept the momentum going to take a 15-point advantage into halftime. The Suns picked up their play in the third but could not cut into the deficit, as the hosts carried a 17-point cushion into the final frame. The Suns continued to press in the fourth but came up short for a second straight loss, while the Timberwolves held on for the home win.

Anthony Edwards led the Timberwolves with 31 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals, in 37 minutes. D'Angelo Russell followed up with 17 points, two rebounds, four assists and two steals, while Jaden McDaniels added 14 points, five rebounds, six assists, a steal and a block. The Timberwolves shot 52.2 percent from the field, including 10-of-28 from long range.

Meanwhile, Damion Lee led the Suns with 31 points, six rebounds and two assists, in 31 minutes. Mikal Bridges followed up with 24 points, four rebounds, six assists and three steals, while Deandre Ayton finished with 11 points, 11 rebounds and four assists. The Suns shot 47.7 percent from the field, including 10-of-28 from deep.

The Suns (21-22) will look to bounce back as they take on the Grizzlies in Memphis on Monday. The Timberwolves (20-22) play host to the Cavs on Saturday.
