Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Adds

Julian Champagnie, Spurs

Champagnie has inexplicably transformed into a double-double machine, averaging 16 points, 11 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1.3 blocks across his past three games. The rebounding surge is particularly surprising for a wing player who hasn't shown this profile previously in his career.

The opportunity stems from injuries to Stephon Castle and Victor Wembanyama. With both sidelined, Champagnie is seeing a significant usage rate increase plus expanded rebounding responsibilities. He's crashing the glass aggressively and benefiting from less competition for boards with Wembanyama off the court.

Champagnie has been a decent streaming option all season, providing threes and occasional defensive stats. But this recent stretch elevates him beyond pure streaming territory. He should probably be added in at least 14-team leagues for the time being as a legitimate hold while the injuries persist.

The schedule amplifies his value considerably. San Antonio plays tonight, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. That compressed schedule provides maximum opportunity to extract counting stats even if the per-game efficiency varies.

The rebounding is unlikely to sustain at 11 per game once Wembanyama returns, but Champagnie has demonstrated enough across multiple categories to warrant rostering in deeper formats. The combination of threes, blocks, and boards creates useful category diversification.

Recommendation: Add Champagnie in 14-team leagues and deeper as a hold while Castle and Wembanyama remain out. In 12-team leagues, he's an excellent stream for San Antonio's four-game stretch. The rebounding will regress, but the expanded role should persist for at least another week or two.

Adem Bona, 76ers

The Andre Drummond situation took a surprising turn. Despite being helped off the court in the previous game, Drummond is apparently questionable for today's contest after an MRI revealed no structural damage to his knee. This development completely changes Bona's fantasy outlook.

Yesterday, Bona was positioned as a must-add if you need blocks, with expectations of significant playing time as Drummond's replacement. Now he's transformed into a "let's hope Drummond doesn't play tonight and I get one game out of him as a streamer" situation.

The volatility surrounding Drummond's status makes Bona extremely difficult to evaluate. If Drummond sits, Bona provides excellent blocks and rebounds as the primary backup center. If Drummond plays through the injury, Bona's minutes crater back to irrelevance.

The 76ers' center depth remains thin regardless, which means Bona should see some opportunities even if Drummond returns. However, the minutes and usage won't be enough to justify rostering in most formats without Drummond definitively sidelined.

Recommendation: Monitor Drummond's status obsessively before game time. If he's ruled out, Bona becomes a solid streaming add for blocks. If Drummond plays, skip Bona entirely unless you're in a 16-team league desperate for any center production. This is pure injury speculation now rather than a confident add.

Miles McBride, Knicks

McBride continues delivering solid production with OG Anunoby and Landry Shamet sidelined. He's started four of his past five games, averaging 15 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists in 32 minutes per game. The expanded role has translated to consistent fantasy relevance.

The key development is McBride playing more minutes and taking more spot-up threes, functioning primarily as a floor-spacer rather than a playmaker. He's not racking up assists, but the increased three-point attempts create scoring opportunities that drive his fantasy value. His role is straightforward: space the floor, hit open shots, and provide defensive energy.

The Knicks have an exceptionally favorable schedule coming up—playing tonight, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. That's five games in eight days, making McBride an elite streaming option purely based on volume of opportunity.

McBride won't stuff the stat sheet across all categories. He's essentially a points and threes streamer with minimal peripheral contributions. But when you're getting five games in eight days from a player seeing 30+ minutes in a starting role, the counting stats accumulate quickly.

Recommendation: McBride is an excellent stream for standard leagues based on New York's compressed schedule. Add him for the five-game stretch and extract maximum value from the opportunity. Once Anunoby returns, McBride's minutes and role will shrink considerably, making him droppable in most formats.
