Yolfran Castillo

Castillo is a teenage shortstop dripping with potential who could break out in his Single-A debut in 2025. A wiry, athletic hit-over-power prospect who split his age-17 season between the Dominican Summer League and the Arizona Complex League, Castillo has yet to hit his first professional home run, but as he adds muscle to his 6-foot-3, 165-pound frame, he could develop 20-homer power. He slashed .377/.481/.415 with a 16.6 percent walk rate, a 9.2 percent strikeout rate and 10 steals in 35 games in rookie ball, showcasing a potentially elite hit tool. In addition to lacking elite power potential, Castillo is just an average runner on the bases, so his ability to hit for a high average with a high on-base percentage may always be his greatest strength.
