Looks healthy again
Acosta (thoracic outlet syndrome surgery) took part in an intrasquad game Sunday at the Rangers' minor-league camp.
ANALYSIS
Acosta's involvement in the intrasquad game signals that he's healthy again after undergoing surgery in August. The teenage shortstop made his pro debut with the Rangers' rookie-level Arizona Complex League affiliate in 2021, slashing .246/.279/.393 with a home run and seven stolen bases over 68 plate appearances.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2021
2020
Unfortunately we're still awaiting Acosta's official pro debut. He impressed enough after signing for $1.65 million out of Venezuela in 2019 that he may have opened 2020 in the AZL were it not for the pandemic. Gleyber Torres comps have fueled his ascent up prospect rankings, and that player archetype is the general idea. He could develop into a bat-first middle infielder who hits for average and power. Like Torres, there's a chance his thicker lower half results in him being just a four-category contributor in fantasy, but there are some who expect him to chip in a handful of steals early in his MLB career. Acosta will open 2020 as one of the youngest players in the AZL, and if his bat is as advertised, his dynasty-league value will continue to climb.
