Chase Dollander

23-Year-Old PitcherSP
Colorado Rockies
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Dollander is one of the best pitchers in the minors, but his dynasty value doesn't match his real-life value, given that he'll be pitching half his games in Coors Field. He had a 2.59 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 169 strikeouts in 118 innings across 23 starts between High-A and Double-A and showed no signs of slowing down. There is no recent prospect with this big of a gap between where they're ranked on real-life lists and dynasty lists. If you've been playing fantasy baseball for a while, you know how rare it is for a Rockies starter to be good enough to roster and start in fantasy for the majority a season. Ubaldo Jimenez from 2009-10 and German Marquez in 2018 are the two most obvious examples from the past 20 years, and in other years where a Rockies starter finished with decent surface stats, they probably weren't started much more than 50 percent of the time in fantasy. On the flip side, one could argue Dollander, the No. 9 overall pick in 2023, is the best pitcher to come through this system in two decades, so if someone were to join Jimenez and Marquez and post a truly valuable fantasy season, he's a great candidate. Look for him to make more starts in the majors than the minors in 2025. Read Past Outlooks

July 2, 2025
Dollander (2-9) took the loss Tuesday, allowing six runs on seven hits and two walks over 2.2 innings in a 6-5 loss against the Astros. He struck out one.
Analysis
The right-hander was undone by a five-run third inning capped by a Victor Caratini grand slam. Dollander entered the league as a highly regarded prospect in part due to his electric fastball, which averages 97.6 mph, but he's struggled to turn that into consistent results, posting just a 6.9 K/9 and 4.0 BB/9. Through 14 starts, the rookie owns a 6.65 ERA and 1.51 WHIP across 65.0 innings.

Expected to start Sunday
PColorado Rockies
April 5, 2025
The Rockies have promoted Dollander to the big-league club, and he's expected to start Sunday against the Athletics, according to Patrick Lyons of JustBaseball.com.
Analysis
There's an opening on the Rockies' 40-man roster, so the club will only need to make a corresponding active roster move. The 23-year-old right-hander is widely seen as Colorado's top pitching prospect, and it was a matter of when, not if, he would pitch at the MLB level in 2025.
