Tuesday's MLB slate begins at 4:10 PM Eastern time and features 16 games thanks to a doubleheader between the White Sox and Twins. Ross Stripling and Sean Newcomb weren't names fantasy owners expected to rely on heading into the season, but both of those pitchers represent strong value on the mound here despite being priced over $40.

PITCHER
Ross Stripling, LAD at PIT ($42): It's not too late to buy into Stripling, who has taken full advantage of his opportunity in the starting rotation. The unheralded righty is 3-0 with a 1.44 ERA and 35 strikeouts in 25 innings over his past four starts, so his price should continue to climb if he's able to maintain that recent form. Doing so shouldn't prove too difficult against a scuffling Pirates offense that's averaging 3.0 runs per game in the last nine.
Sean Newcomb, ATL at SD ($46): Newcomb's taken his game to the next level in year two, as his strikeout rate has risen from 23.7 percent to 24.6 percent while his wOBA allowed is down from over .330 to .266. With his ability to rack up whiffs while shutting down offenses, Newcomb's ceiling rivals that of any pitcher in this slate, as he also benefits from facing a Padres offense that scores the third-fewest runs in the league (3.90) and strikes out the third-most (9.46 per game).

CATCHER
Russell Martin, TOR vs. NYY ($10): Martin's a solid play at his price, as he owns a .347 career wOBA against left-handed pitching and will be facing sputtering southpaw CC Sabathia. Sabathia's hit a wall over his past four starts, allowing 16 earned runs in 18.1 innings during that stretch.
FIRST BASE
Miguel Cabrera, DET at BOS ($18): Cabrera has been sensational in righty-on-righty matchups this season, producing a .395 wOBA through 78 such at-bats. He'll be facing such a situation here, though there's a twist involved since Boston will be handing a spot-start to right-handed knuckleballer Steven Wright. From the limited sample available, Cabrera appears to be one of the best in the business at hitting the knuckleball, as he has a home run in four career at-bats against Wright and also went deep twice while only striking out five times in 33 at-bats against the league's most notable recent knuckleballer, R.A. Dickey.
SECOND BASE
Eduardo Nunez, BOS vs. DET ($11): Nunez's wOBA in righty-on-righty matchups this season is .115 higher than his mark against lefties, so this is the ideal time to deploy the affordable infielder. Few major-league right-handers instill less fear than Artie Lewicki, who has a 7.50 career road ERA and will be making just his second career start for the injury-riddled Tigers.
THIRD BASE
Adrian Beltre, TEX vs. OAK ($16): Beltre's career wOBA against left-handed pitching is a robust .381, and his 2017 output was markedly better than that at .464. When those matchups occurred at the hitter-friendly Globe Life Park in Arlington, Beltre's mark climbed even further to .485 last season. That history of success should translate into results at home against the scuffling Sean Manaea, who has surrendered 25 earned runs in 31.1 innings over his past six starts, allowing at least four earned runs in all but one of those outings.
SHORTSTOP
Marcus Semien, OAK at TEX ($15): Semien's .337 career wOBA against left-handed pitching is .038 higher than his mark against righties, so the time to utilize Oakland's shortstop is against vulnerable southpaws like the Rangers' Matt Moore. Moore has a 7.85 ERA through 47 innings this season and is allowing a .390 wOBA to batters from the right side. Meanwhile, Semien's deployment as either the leadoff man or two-hole hitter also generates a little extra value through maximizing his number of plate appearances.
OUTFIELD
Jorge Soler, KC at LAA ($17): Soler's worthy of consideration every time the Royals go up against a left-handed starter like Los Angeles' Andrew Heaney. He had a forgettable 2017 campaign on all fronts, but the 26-year-old outfielder has bounced back with a .453 wOBA through 52 at-bats against southpaws this season, and batting in the heart of Kansas City's lineup also increases Soler's odds of racking up counting stats.
Eddie Rosario, MIN vs. CWS ($23): Rosario clubbed a trio of home runs when his team last took the field Sunday, and the left-handed slugger has the potential to carry lineups once again here. His wOBA against right-handed pitching this season is up to an even .400 heading into an extremely favorable matchup against righty Lucas Giolito, who has surrendered a .412 mark to batters from the left side this season. Just make sure to use Rosario in the 7:40 PMcontest against Giolito rather than the 4:10opener of this doubleheader against Reynaldo Lopez.
Michael Conforto, NYM vs. BAL ($17): Orioles righty Alex Cobb has been disastrously bad against left-handed sluggers this season, surrendering a .473 wOBA to the 90 such hitters he's faced. Conforto has a .352 wOBA against right-handed pitching this season after producing a .420 mark in 2017, leaving him primed to do some serious damage from the heart of the Mets' order here.
