Colorado Rockies vs. St. Louis Cardinals
Cardinals -1.5 (+104 @ BetRivers Sportsbook)
The Cardinals have been trending in the right direction of late, winning two out of three against a slumping Chicago Cubs team this past weekend. Even though it's too late for them to make a serious run at the NL Central crown, they remain alive in the wild-card race, seemingly playing with more confidence. They'll be at home for a three-game series against the cellar-dwelling Rockies on Monday, and they should be overwhelming favorites to cover the run line here.
The Rockies are an NL-worst 30-87 with an MLB-worst 14-45 when playing on the road. The pitching matchup also favors St. Louis. The Cardinals will have RHP Miles Mikolas (6-9, 5.11 ERA) on the mound, whereas the Rockies will counter with rookie RHP Chase Dollander, who has struggled with a 2-9 record and a 6.68 ERA over 68.2 innings across 15 starts.

Boston Red Sox vs. Houston Astros
Under 7.5 total runs (-104 @ BetRivers Sportsbook)
This series between the Red Sox and Astros could very well be a playoff preview in the American League. The Astros are leading the AL West with a 66-52 record, but have gone just 5-5 over their last 10, and the Seattle Mariners are breathing down their necks. The Red Sox are in second place in the AL East, but they've gone 7-3 in their previous 10 games.
The main reason why this game could end up being a low-scoring affair lies in the pitching matchup. The Astros will have RHP Cristian Javier on the mound, who will be making his debut after a prolonged absence while recovering from Tommy John surgery. He's a quality pitcher who should be eager to prove he belongs in the rotation of a playoff team.
The Red Sox will counter with All-Star LHP Garrett Crochet, who has been excellent this season, posting a 2.24 ERA across 23 starts and 148.1 innings. With two quality hurlers on the mound, don't be surprised if this ends up being a low-scoring battle.

Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Milwaukee Brewers
Over 8.5 total runs (-124 @ FanDuel Sportsbook)
The biggest question in baseball right now is whether any team can stop the Brewers. Milwaukee not only leads the NL Central with a 6-game advantage over the Cubs, but the team has also gone 9-1 over their last 10 games with the best record in the majors by a sizable margin at 73-44.
Unsurprisingly, the Brewers also own the best run differential in the majors at +132. Their games have been relatively high-scoring of late, and four of their previous five have finished with nine or more total runs, including two of three in the most recent series against the New York Mets.
The Pirates haven't exactly been a productive offense this season, but they're coming off an 18-4 loss to the Cincinnati Reds on Sunday, and six of their last 10 contests have also recorded nine or more runs. Don't be surprised if this game also has nine or more runs, though that might be widely expected since the Brewers should dominate and win by a sizable margin.
