Tien won 6-2, 6-7 (1), 7-6 (2) over Fabian Marozsan in the second round of Winston-Salem on Tuesday.

Tien followed up his first tour-level win with his second as he upset the No. 49-ranked Hungarian in a tough three-set affair across two hours and nine minutes. The 18-year-old American claimed 62% of service points and 45% of return points in the victory. Tien will take on No. 69-ranked Thiago Seyboth Wild in the third round.
