Takaoka is heading into his third season with Vancouver, and he's coming off two nearly identical seasons. He's started 35 and 37 matches, conceded 51 and 50 goals, and made 103 and 99 saves in his first two seasons, respectively in 2023 and 2024. Takaoka has never been the problem for Vancouver, but he hasn't been the goalkeeper who can steal a game and get them over the hump in the MLS Cup playoffs.
