Lennard Maloney

Maloney has signed a contract with Mainz until 2028, the club announced. "Lennard Maloney has demonstrated over the last year and a half that he is well established in the Bundesliga. Sportingly, he is at home in the number six position, and his player profile is a perfect fit for Mainz 05. He is an absolute mentality player with a high level of stamina, aerial ability, and tackle strength. Maloney is out Sunday's match against Stuttgart due to a head injury, according to manager Frank Schmidt. "Lennard has a head injury from yesterday's game, so we're clarifying how bad it is. With Lennard, I don't think it's enough"'

Maloney (thigh) got the start during Thursday's 2-0 win over Hearts.

Maloney suffered knock to his thigh and is questionable for Saturday's match against Kiel, according to manager Frank Schmidt. "We still have to wait for the personal situation in training. What I can say is Lennard got a thigh knock. We have to see in training or tomorrow if it is enough in the short time so that he is operational."

Maloney (undisclosed) is in the starting lineup for Friday's game against Dortmund.
