Kim has signed a three-year deal with D.C. United through 2027, with an option for 2028,
the club announced. Ally Mackay, D.C. United General Manager and Chief Soccer Officer, said, "Kim is a very talented young goalkeeper who has demonstrated his ability this past season in the K League."
ANALYSIS
Kim is a promising 21-year-old goalkeeper with significant potential. During the 2024 season in the K League, he played 17 matches on loan for Gimcheon Sangmu, recording nine clean sheets, and an additional 17 matches with his parent club Jeonbuk, achieving six clean sheets. Over the year, he accumulated over 3,000 minutes, 63 saves, and 15 clean sheets. Joon Hong's development has been further highlighted by his first senior national team call-up in August 2023 for international friendlies against Wales and Saudi Arabia.
