2025 Fantasy Outlook
Thiago joined Brentford last summer but made just eight appearances due to a serious injury and an infection after surgery. Despite that awful start to life in England, he now steps into the Brentford team with a surprising opportunity for a large role in the attack. Before joining Brentford, he scored 18 goals with Club Brugge and he's expected to shoulder a significant load for the Bees now that he's fit. The thought is that if fit, there will be minutes for him given the player movement that Brentford has had. Yet, with a new manager and minimal time in the Premier League, he's an extremely boom-or-bust forward.
Scores brace in victory
Thiago was subbed off due to injury in the 82nd minute of Wednesday's 3-0 victory over Sunderland. He scored two goals to go with six shots (four on goal) and two chances created before exiting the match.
ANALYSIS
Thiago opened the scoring in the 30th minute, latching onto Vitaly Janelt's perfectly weighted pass before rounding Robin Roefs and slotting home with composure. He doubled the lead shortly after the hour mark, converting following sustained pressure that came after Sunderland's missed penalty and a Kevin Schade effort that struck the woodwork. The two goals push his total to 16 in 21 Premier League appearances for the Bees this season, an impressive return for the Brazilian following his recovery from an ACL injury. Thiago will look to add to his tally against Chelsea on Jan. 17, as he remains the only player able to compete with Erling Haaland for the Golden Boot.

Late call with minor issue
Thiago is a late call for Thursday's match against Tottenham due to a knock, according to manager Keith Andrews. "Thiago had a bit of an issue, but nothing to do with his injury last season at all. Again, this time of year, naturally, you pick up little bits and bobs. The games are coming quite frequently. We're still a couple of days out, so we'll see how everyone is tomorrow and make decisions about the team."
