Marcadalli got the nod over the more experienced Leo Ostigard and had a disciplined performance in the back, although Lecce didn't muster much offense. He'll have the chance to carve out a role for himself while his teammate works on his conditioning. He spent the second half of last season on loan at Venezia, notching 21 clearances, eight tackles and three blocks in eight games (five starts), with no clean sheets.
