Booked against Silva
FlyweightUFC
August 21, 2024
Araujo will take on Karine Silva in a flyweight bout at UFC 309 in New York City, Nolan King of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Araujo will be looking to bounce back from a February defeat to Natalia Silva where she lost via unanimous decision. It'll be easier said than done, however, against Silva, who remains undefeated in the UFC. What's more, before Silva's last fight, she had defeated every opponent in the first round. Considering Araujo has lost three of her last four fights, this is a massive bout for the flyweight.

Won't face Jasudavicius
FlyweightUFC
July 5, 2024
Araujo won't face Jasmine Jasudavicius in a flyweight fight at UFC Denver on July 13 due to undisclosed reasons, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
It's unclear why Araujo has stepped down from the event, and that means Jasudavicius will take on a new opponent, with Fatima Kline being the chosen one on short notice. It's unclear when Araujo will be able to step back on the octagon.
Jasudavicius up next
FlyweightUFC
April 8, 2024
Araujo is scheduled to compete against Jasmine Jasudavicius in a flyweight fight at the UFC's July 13 event, per Nolan King of MMAJunkie.com.
ANALYSIS
Araujo will defend her top-10 flyweight ranking against someone currently out of the top 15. Jasudavicius began 2024 by submitting Priscila Cachoiera. As for Araujo, she will look to prevent another losing streak after suffering a decision loss against Natalia Silva on Feb. 3.
Inconsistent ways continue
FlyweightUFC
February 3, 2024
Araujo lost to Natalia Silva via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Entering as the largest underdog on the card at upwards of +275, Araujo was competitive for about a round. She did a nice job of staying in tight to Silva and forcing her up against the cage, but she landed no damage from there and was totally overwhelmed very single time the two separated. Araujo is plenty durable -- her last ten fights have gone the distance -- but at age 37, she lacks the physical skills to put together any sort of prolonged winning streak. The Brazilian has lost three of four dating back to October 2022.
Gets new fight
FlyweightUFC
November 13, 2023
Araujo is slated to take on Natalia Silva at a UFC event on Feb 3, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Araujo most recently defeated Jennifer Maia via unanimous decision to snap a brief two-fight losing streak. The win brought her record with the company to 6-4. Her opponent, Silva, sports a 4-0 record and is coming off a win over Andrea Lee at UFC 292.
Snaps brief losing streak
FlyweightUFC
October 14, 2023
Araujo defeated Jennifer Maia via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
The victory snaps a two-fight losing streak for the Brazilian and likely saves her job in the process. Araujo started quickly, getting the better of Maia over the course of the first ten minutes. Araujo was particularly effective in Round 2, as two successful takedowns led to 4:35 worth of control time. She did allow Maia to regain the momentum in Round 3, but the damage was already done. A .500 fighter over the course of her past half-dozen bouts, Araujo may have difficulty stringing together victories moving forward considering she'll be 37 years of age in late-November.
