Dudakova lost to Sam Hughes via split decision (30-27, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Abu Dhabi.
ANALYSIS
The 30-27 scorecard in favor of Dudakova is about the worst you will ever see. Yes, she clearly won the opening round and was the much more effective fighter early on, but she gassed out in a major way over the course of the final ten minutes. Hughes was the much fresher fighter and did enough over the final seven or eight minutes to earn the decision. Dudakova is still just 25 years of age and has legitimate skills, but you aren't going to defeat some of the best in the world unless you possess three-round cardio. Dudakova falls to 2-1 in her first three UFC bouts.

It's an incredibly tough break for fantasy players counting on either fighter, as they had little recourse due to the late-notice cancellation of the bout. It's unclear how serious the illness Dudakova was facing was, or whether the UFC will attempt to re-book these two at a later date. She did not in an Instagram post the following day that she hopes to "come back ASAP."

She was forced to turn over 20 percent of her purse to Frey in order for the fight to proceed, yet once the opening bell rang, Dudakova was clearly multiple steps ahead of her opponent on the feet. Dudakova's lone struggles came in Round 2, when Frey landed an early takedown and kept her pinned to the mat nearly the entire frame. With all of eight professional fights under her belt at age 24, Dudakova has plenty of room to grow. Her first priority needs to be making weight for her next bout.
