Moises wasn't the least bit competitive his last time out, a unanimous decision defeat to L'udovit Klein last June, so it was nice to see him rebound against Ogden. Moises started slowly, but he made a point of damaging his opponent with low kicks. That paid dividends later, as one big shot dropped Ogden to the mat in Round 2. Moises then caught a lucky break in Round 3 after Ogden landed a takedown, only to lose position and end up on his back. The Brazilian took full advantage of the dominant position to earn the win. Set to turn 30 years of age in late-March, Moises has alternated wins and losses in his last five fights dating back to January 2023.

There's no shame in losing to Klein, who is a capable opponent, but the fact Moises was totally dominated and not the least bit competitive in a pick 'em fight is highly concerning. Thiago got cracked with a high kick early on before getting dropped late in Round 1. He was lucky to survive that flurry, as he was to survive a flurry after getting dropped again late in Round 3. In between, he did next to nothing offensively. Moises has plenty of talent, but a 3-4 record in his past seven fights dating back to July 2021 isn't going to get the job done in a deep lightweight division.

The Brazilian did whatever he wanted against the newcomer, beating him up on the feet and landing both of his takedown attempts before finally putting Ramirez away with some devastating leg kicks early in Round 3. The Brazilian has had issues winning the "big" fight over the course of his career, but Moises does his victories over the likes of Michael Johnson and Bobby Green on his resume. He's going to roll fringe-roster fighters such as a Ramirez.
