Romero lost to David Onama via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 27-30) at UFC 309 on Saturday in New York City.

He nearly pulled a massive upset after scoring a Round 1 knockdown of Onama, but he wasn't able to close the show, and things went downhill from there.
