Raul Rosas

El Nino Problemo

Mexico

Secures fourth straight win
BantamweightUFC
March 29, 2025
Rosas defeated Vince Morales via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Mexico City.
ANALYSIS
It was a typical Rosas performance on multiple fronts. His striking continues to improve, but his success is entirely reliant on his grappling game. Rosas landed 4-of-8 takedowns for 9:38 worth of control time, but his positioning on the ground remains a work in progress, and that allowed Morales to clamp on a pair of deep submission attempts. Rosas survived, but there were some hairy moments on the way to the victory. The winner of four fights in a row and five of his six in the UFC, Rosas won't turn 21 years of age until October. All that matters is that he remains healthy and continues to get reps inside the Octagon.

Taking on Morales
BantamweightUFC
March 3, 2025
Rosas will take on Vince Morales in a bantamweight bout at UFC Mexico on March 29, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Rosas will be looking to build off what's been a very impressive start to his UFC career. He's currently sitting at 4-1 in the promotion, winning his last three bouts. Even more impressive is the fact that he's only 20, and made his UFC debut when he was 18. His opponent Morales, meanwhile, has struggled recently, losing two straight to drop his UFC record to 3-7.
Grinds way to UFC 306 victory

Rosas defeated Aori Qileng via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC 306 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
It was a thoroughly mediocre performance from Rosas as a ridiculous -1000 favorite. Yes, he won this fight easily, but that was because he landed three takedowns and 7:32 worth of control time. He accomplished little on the feet and had zero desire to take any risks on the mat knowing full well Qileng had zero chance of hanging with him there. Rosas, who won't turn 20 years of age until early-October, remains the youngest fighter on the UFC roster. He improves to 4-1 with the company. Rosas is so young that the only things that matter at this point is that he stays healthy and gets increased reps in the Octagon, but it would have been nice to see him seek the finish a bit more against a middling opponent like Qileng.
New fight scheduled
BantamweightUFC
July 19, 2024
Rosas will fight Aori Qileng at UFC 306 in Las Vegas, Nevada on Sept. 14, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Rosas will compete against Qileng in the bantamweight division. In his last two outings, Rosas has shown versatility in his form of victory, winning by submission via rear naked choke, as well as by TKO in a first-round knockout.
Scores another submission win
BantamweightUFC
June 8, 2024
Rosas defeated Ricky Turcios via submission (rear-naked choke) at 2:22 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Louisville, Kentucky.
ANALYSIS
This fight was several months in the making, as these two were originally scheduled to do battle in Mexico City in late-February before Rosas withdrew due to illness. They finally got it on here, and Rosas emerged victorious after surviving a rear-naked choke attempt from Turcios in Round 1. Raul was always going to have a massive grappling advantage in this fight, and he seemed like a good bet to emerge victorious as long as he didn't make any major mistakes. The UFC continues to take things slowly with Rosas, which is absolutely the correct move considering he won't be 20 years of age until this coming October. Raul improves to 3-1 with the company with the win. He also went on to earn a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus for his efforts here.
Turcios fight on tap again
BantamweightUFC
April 11, 2024
Rosas (illness) is scheduled to compete against Ricky Turcios at the UFC Apex's June 8 event, per Damon Martin of MMAFighting.com.
ANALYSIS
Rosas and Turcios were expected to fight at UFC Mexico on Feb. 24. But after that fight was postponed, their bout got pushed back to UFC Vegas 87 a week later before it got canceled altogether. But now that he is ready to go again, Turcios has been scheduled again, hopefully for the last time before they eventually compete for the first time.
