Scheduled against Namajunas
Maverick and fellow flyweight Rose Namajunas are fighting in what is expected to be UFC Atlanta on June 14, per Damon Martin of MMA Fighting.
ANALYSIS
June 14 is a legitimate opportunity for Maverick to advance into the top 10 of the UFC's flyweight rankings. She has the momentum to do so, having won each of her last four fights.

Picks up fourth straight win
Maverick defeated Jamey-Lyn Horth via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Tampa, Florida.
ANALYSIS
She got the win she was seeking against a late-notice opponent, but this was one of Maverick's worst performances to date, a fact she openly admitted in her post-fight presser. Entering as upwards of a -900 favorite, Maverick went 2-for-9 on takedowns, but she did rack up 6:50 of control time. She does deserve credit for finding a takedown in Round 3 with the outcome totally up for grabs, but Miranda managed just 24 significant strikes and did next to nothing with her seemingly-constant positional advantage. It doesn't feel as if Maverick is making a ton of progress despite the fact she's won four in a row dating back to July 2023.

Opponent withdraws
Maverick will no longer fight Tracy Cortez (undisclosed) at UFC Tampa on Dec. 14, Nolan King of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
An injury forced Cortez to pull out of the fight, and it remains to be seen whether the UFC will book a new opponent for Maverick or cancel the bout.

Scheduled against Cortez
Maverick is scheduled to compete against Tracy Cortez in a flyweight fight at UFC Tampa on Dec. 14, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
This is a great opportunity for Maverick to enter the UFC's flyweight rankings, as Cortez is ranked No. 12. But excluding her loss to Rose Namajunas, Cortez has won her other five UFC fights, suggesting she is a capable foe to take down Maverick's win streak.
