Steps in to face Hubbard
Mederos will take on Austin Hubbard in a lightweight bout at UFC Mexico on March 29, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Mederos will step in for Daniel Zellhuber after the latter pulled out for undisclosed reasons. It's a nice turn of events for the 28-year old, as after he won his UFC debut against Landon Quinones via unanimous decision, his next two fights were cancelled. Thus, it's nice for this bout to fall into his lap, but he'll have little time to prepare as it's a quick turnaround on March 29. He'll look to keep Hubbard on the losing side of the Octagon, as the lightweight fell to Alexander Hernandez via split decision back in October in his last bout.

Denver fight scrapped
The lightweight matchup at UFC Denver on July 13 between Mederos and Nazim Sadykhov has been canceled, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Mederos was originally filling in for this matchup as Chris Duncan dropped out, but the fight will instead just be scrapped from the UFC Denver card. Mederos has fought in just one UFC matchup in his career, beating Landon Quinones via unanimous decision back in February.

Books second UFC fight
Mederos will take on Nazim Sadykhov at UFC Denver on Jul. 13 in place of Chris Duncan (undisclosed), Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Mederos will get his second UFC fight after coming off a win by unanimous decision against Landon Quinones, previously appearing on Dana White's Contender Series last October. The American lightweight takes on 30-year-old Sadykhov, who holds a 2-0-1 record in the UFC.

Takes decision in UFC debut
Mederos defeated Landon Quinones via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Making his UFC debut on the heels of a first-round knockout win on Dana White's Contender Series last October, Mederos started slowly before beginning to find his range. He seemed to lack the physicality of Quinones, but he also clearly won Round 2. With the fight up in the air, Mederos failed on all five of his Round 3 takedown attempts, but all three judges still gave him the frame. Overall, this fight was closer than the scorecards would lead you to believe. Still, Mederos walked out of the UFC Apex with a win in his company debut. The 27-year-old Texan should be back in the Octagon in short order.

Booked for UFC Vegas 85
Mederos will fight Landon Quinones at UFC Vegas 85 on Feb. 3, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Mederos earned a UFC contract after defeating Issa Isakov in a Contender Series fight in October, and he now has a date in place for his UFC debut. The 26-year-old Mederos boasts an 8-1 professional record and will be matched up with an opponent who is still searching for his first UFC victory.
