Borjas dropped his UFC debut to Joshua Van last November, but at least he started quickly in that fight. He could get nothing at all going against Costa. Borjas was left hobbled after eating repeated low kicks before eventually being knocked down and finished early in Round 2. He does have a win on Dana White's Contender Series on his resume, but even that came via decision. With back-to-back defeats to begin his official run with the company, there's zero guarantee Borjas will get a third opportunity.

Borjas landed a handful of shots late in Round 1 that were unquestionably the biggest blows of the bout. Yet, his output dipped the rest of the way, and his striking defense deteriorated. There were enough positives here from Borjas, however, to make him a fighter to keep an eye on moving forward.
