Struggles continue in Vegas
Buzukja lost to Francis Marshall via split decision (28-29, 29-28, 27-30) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
It's hard to knock Buzukja for a defeat in which he entered as a +160 underdog, but it's important to remember Marshall accepted this fight literally just days ago following the withdrawal of Danny Silva and still came away victorious. Buzukja did a nice job of rebounding in the latter half of the bout, but he was totally out-grappled in Round 1 and allowed a big knockdown in Round 2. He was pretty fortunate one judge felt he did enough to win. Buzukja gets elite training on a daily basis with Ray Longo and crew on Long Island, but with a 1-3 start to his UFC career, his UFC run may have come to an end.

New opponent set
Buzukja will take on Francis Marshall in a lightweight bout at UFC Vegas 96 on Aug. 24, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Buzukja was initially slated to take on Danny Silva, but the latter withdrew, leaving Buzukja in need of a new opponent. Enter Marshall, a relatively fresh face in the UFC who boasts a 1-2-0 record in the conference. Marshall is coming off two straight losses, however, so he'll step in as a fighter desperate for a victory.

Needs new opponent
Buzukja will not fight Danny Silva at UFC Vegas 96 on Saturday, according to Nolan King of MMA Junkie.
ANALYSIS
Buzukja and Silva were supposed to fight each other at UFC Vegas 96. But now that the latter has withdrawn from their scheduled bout, the UFC is trying to find a replacement to fight Buzukja, albeit in under one week's notice.

Secures first UFC victory
Buzukja defeated Connor Matthews via TKO (punches) at 0:22 of Round 3 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Atlantic City.
ANALYSIS
It was a nice bounce-back effort for Buzukja on the heels of a 49-second knockout loss to Jamall Emmers last November. He got the better of Matthews over the course of the first ten minutes before cracking his opponent with a quick one-two combo early in Round 3 and putting him away. It would go on to win him a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus. Buzukja seems unlikely to go on any sort of run simply because of his brawling tendencies, but he's getting elite training on a daily basis with Ray Longo and the crew out on Long Island.

Set to fight Matthews
Buzukja will fight Connor Matthews at UFC Atlantic City on March 30, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Buzukja's UFC career has gotten off to a rough start, as he sits at 0-2 through his first two contests. Should he lose a third straight fight against a debuting Matthews, Buzukja's future with the promotion could be in serious jeopardy.
