Toughness on display in debut loss
Hines lost to Jhonata Diniz via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC 317 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
It's the rare instance of the guy that lost looking equally as impressive as the guy that won. Hines accepted the fight a few weeks ago and showed a ton of toughness in replacing Justin Tafa on short notice. He was hopelessly outclassed in terms of hand speed and pure striking skill, but he continued to push forward the entire bout and was the fresher man in Round 3. The result was academic because he simply didn't do enough early on to win a decision, but Hines earned plenty of new fans in the process, and he will certainly get another opportunity with the company.

Set for UFC debut
Hines will face Jhonata Diniz at UFC 317 on June 28, according to Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Hines is a late addition to the card, as Diniz was originally scheduled to fight Justin Tafa before the latter was ruled out of the event due to an undisclosed injury. Hines is 7-0-0 in the pro ranks, but this will be his first fight at the UFC level. It's worth noting that six of Hines' seven wins have come via either knockout or submission.
