2025 Fantasy Outlook
Kartye had six goals and 13 points in 63 appearances with Seattle in 2024-25. He also earned 175 hits while averaging only 9:41 of ice time. The 24-year-old forward burst onto the NHL scene in the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs, collecting three goals and five points in 10 outings. However, he has earned only 17 goals and 33 points across 140 regular-season contests in two seasons with the Kraken. He should pile up hits in 2025-26, but a dramatic increase in offensive production is unlikely to occur if his role remains limited. Read Past Outlooks
Out due to illness
Kartye is out of Wednesday's lineup versus the Kings due to an illness.
ANALYSIS
Kartye's absence was initially unclear as to whether he was a scratch or dealing with an issue. The 24-year-old will miss at least one game while under the weather, and it's uncertain if he'll be back for Friday's game versus the Mammoth. Ben Meyers will play Wednesday in Kartye's usual fourth-line spot.

2024 Fantasy Outlook
When compared to the likes of Connor Bedard, Kartye's rookie campaign was underwhelming but he still managed to generate 11 goals on 109 shots to go with nine assists in 77 contests. While expectations will likely be high for the 23-year-old Ontario native, it might behoove fantasy players to temper expectations when you consider Kartye may have to settle for a bottom-six role following the Kraken's addition of Chandler Stephenson. Still, the versatile forward should continue to make strides in his development and could produce at increased levels next year, though physicality is his best asset -- he had 228 hits last season.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Looking to add speed in 2025-26
Kartye's offseason training has focused on adding speed to his game, Bob Condor of the Kraken's official site reports Friday.
ANALYSIS
Kartye was limited to 13 points, along with 175 hits and 43 PIM, over 63 regular-season games last year. The 24-year-old isn't expected to be anything more than a fourth-liner, but he's spent the summer focusing on ways to be more impactful and productive when on the ice. Kartye's training also focused on making good reads with his passes. He will be in contention for one of the Kraken's last forward spots during training camp.
