2025 Fantasy Outlook
The Hurricanes have allowed Kochetkov to slowly build up to being an NHL starter, but it doesn't look like he'll have to take on the No. 1 job alone in 2025-26. He has often alternated starts over the last two years, and he went 27-16-3 with a 2.60 GAA and a .897 save percentage over 47 regular-season contests. The oft-injured Frederik Andersen has been Kochetkov's tandem partner in goal in recent years, and that is set to continue. Still, Kochetkov is talented, and the Hurricanes' system is pretty goalie-friendly. Combined with Andersen's tendency to miss at least one extended chunk of the season, Kochetkov should be a good option in fantasy. Read Past Outlooks

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2024
2023
Kochetkov played excellent hockey in 2023-24. He saw action in 42 games, delivering a 23-13-4 record, 2.33 GAA and .911 save percentage. He even started Game 3 of the Canes' first-round series against the Rangers instead of Frederik Andersen. Kochetkov's 23 wins set a team record for wins by a rookie, and his strong play earned him a nod on the 2023-24 NHL All-Rookie Team. So, what will 2024-25 hold? Starter Frederik Andersen is 34 and has played just one full season in his last four and he's seen action in only 50 of the Canes' possible 162 over the last two years. He's an injury waiting to happen, and Kochetkov's star is on the rise. Thirty wins are within reach and so is a career year.
