The eight NHL games Sunday run from 1 to 10 p.m. ET and no two start at the same time. For this full day slate, here are some players to target and to avoid for your DFS lineups. Get your lineups in early!
GOALIE
Jake Oettinger, DAL vs. BUF ($28): Oettinger has posted a 2.26 GAA and .921 save percentage with a 1.71/.940 line over his last 11 games. Buffalo ranks 26th in goals per game and has also lost five in a row.
GOALIE TO AVOID
Marc-Andre Fleury, CHI vs. STL ($27): It's been an up-and-down season for the defending Vezina winner. While he's recorded a .918 save percentage in his last 16 appearances, he's only managed a 2.80 GAA. The Blues should provide Fleury with a daunting challenge as their 3.57 goals per game is fourth-highest in the NHL.
CENTER
Vincent Trocheck, CAR vs. EDM ($18): Trocheck has tallied seven goals and five assists over his last 15 outings. He's also averaged a robust 3:04 per game with the extra man. The Oilers sit in the bottom-10 for goals against, but more to the point they're on the road for the second game of a back-to-back.
CENTER TO AVOID
Connor McDavid, EDM at CAR ($37): Heresy? Perhaps, but I would avoid McDavid on Sunday, even with his elite status. Like I said, the Oilers are playing on consecutive days. And this is as tough as a matchup as you can get with the Hurricanes only allowing 28.7 shots on net per game and boasting the league's best penalty kill. On top of that, Frederik Andersen has a 2.06 GAA and .929 save percentage.
WING
Blake Wheeler, WPG at ARI ($18): Wheeler has had some bad fortune scoring goals this season, as his 6.4 shooting percentage will show. That being said, four of his six markers have come in his last eight games. The Coyotes, who used to call Winnipeg home, have struggled with a 3.58 GAA while giving up an average of 34.5 shots on net.
Jakub Voracek, CLM vs. PIT ($16): You think Wheeler's puck luck's been poor? Voracek has a 2.2 shooting percentage. And yet, I'm still happy to have him in my lineup. The Czech winger has registered 35 assists and has posted 10 points in 10 with Patrik Laine also red hot. The Penguins played Saturday, which means Casey DeSmith will likely be in net Sunday and he comes in with a 3.08 GAA and .899 save percentage.
WINGS TO AVOID
Patrick Kane, CHI vs. STL ($25): There aren't a lot of imposing matchups Sunday. Part of that is due to several teams on back-to-backs. Kane isn't so lucky. I assume he'll be facing Ville Husso in net for the Blues with his a 2.03 GAA and .935 save percentage. Given Kane's salary and the other options available, I'm looking elsewhere.
Jeff Skinner, BUF at DAL ($18): Skinner has recorded his first 20-goal season in three years, and reeled off a four-goal effort in February. However, those are also the only four he's scored in his last 12 games. Now he's facing Oettinger, who boasts a 2.26 GAA and .921 save percentage.
DEFENSE
Jaccob Slavin, CAR vs. EDM ($19): Slavin has produced 29 points on the campaign. And with Tony DeAngelo out, it seems like Slavin may be in for more time on the power play. In Carolina's last outing, he skated 4:44 with the extra man. The Oilers, who are on the road for the second day of a back-to-back, maintain a penalty kill just outside the bottom-10.
Miro Heiskanen, DAL vs. BUF ($18): Heiskanen's been in a rough patch, but on the season has registered 28 points with 113 shots on net. Maybe he can right the ship at home against the Sabres as they've underperformed with a 3.58 GAA while allowing 34.4 shots on goal per game.
DEFENSE TO AVOID
Jacob Trouba, NYR vs. VAN ($19): The Rangers are at home, but are also playing on consecutive days. Thatcher Demko has been up-and-down this year, but still has a 2.61 GAA and .917 save percentage. The real issue for the Canucks is the fact they rank worst in penalty killing, but Trouba isn't in line to take advantage of that only averaging 1:16 with the extra man.
Seth Jones, CHI vs. STL ($18): As I mentioned earlier, Husso has starred with a 2.03 GAA and .935 save percentage. That's enough for me to be hesitant about Jones on Sunday. He's also posted 14 of his 34 points on the power play, and the Blues rank top-five in penalty kill.
