FanDuel NHL: Tuesday Targets

FanDuel NHL: Tuesday Targets

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

SLATE PREVIEW

With the Washington-Philadelphia game postponed, that leaves only the Knights-Lightning on the Tuesday slate. That means all FanDuel competitions will be in showdown format with no goalies available for selection and five spots for forwards or defensemen, with only one player designated as captain for 1.5x points.

GOALIES

No goalies will be available for selection for single-game slates.

VALUE PLAYS

Evgenii Dadonov, VGK vs. TB ($9,000): Dadonov has been held without a point in four games but if Mark Stone is unavailable, look for Dadonov to skate on the top line again with Max Pacioretty and Chandler Stephenson. Dadonov's offense has been underwhelming this season considering the level of talent that surrounds him, but playing on the top line and No. 1 PP will certainly give him the most opportunity.

Taylor Raddysh, TB at VGK ($6,000): Raddysh will play on the fourth line at even strength but has made regular appearances on the top power play unit. He has good chemistry with former Team Canada teammate Boris Katchouk, and Riley Nash is a dependable defensive center that won't allow this line to get caved in. Raddysh has scored six points in seven games.

LINE STACKS

Lightning at Golden Knights

Steven Stamkos (C - $15,000), Mathieu Joseph (W - $7,000), Ondrej Palat (W - $9,000)

Joseph will skate on the top line, which brings down the cost of this stack considerably. Anthony Cirelli's line will also see plenty of ice time, but they'll be used in more of a matchup role with Alex Killorn and Ross Colton. Only Palat and Stamkos play on the power play, but Joseph has been a very good penalty killer and gives fantasy managers exposure to both special teams.

DEFENSEMEN

Shea Theodore, VGK vs. TB ($10,000): It's slim pickings on the blue line and defensemen aren't always recommended because they tend to score less than forwards. If fantasy managers want to avoid paying a premium for Victor Hedman and/or Alex Pietrangelo, Theodore is a nice alternative. His offense has picked up with two goals in his last game after a quiet start to the season, and continues to jump up and play like a fourth forward sometimes.

Dylan Coghlan, VGK vs. TB ($7,500): Coghlan and Mikhail Sergachev are slated to handle PP2 duties for their respective teams, and Coghlan has the slight edge because he's $1,000 cheaper. The Knights lean on PP1 a lot so Coghlan's appearances may be limited -- he played a little over seven minutes last game -- but there's definitely some upside on offense if he can get on the ice. He's scored five points in his past six games.
