2025 Fantasy Outlook
Taken in the fourth round of the 2024 Draft, Shipley was a regular special-teams contributor for the Super Bowl champions but saw little work on offense behind Saquon Barkley and Kenneth Gainwell. Gainwell left for the Steelers in free agency, but Shipley's spot as the primary backup to Barkley isn't assured, as the Eagles brought in former Packer AJ Dillon for depth after he missed all of last season with a neck injury. If Dillon is healthy, He represents a major challenge to Shipley for the No. 2 spot on the depth chart. Read Past Outlooks
RANKS
One touch in Week 7
Shipley caught one pass for seven yards in Sunday's 28-22 win over the Vikings.
ANALYSIS
Shipley was the second running back on the depth chart Sunday, seeing the field for eight offensive snaps compared to four for Tank Bigsby. Meanwhile, AJ Dillon was a healthy inactive. Unless lead back Saquon Barkley gets hurt, however, Bigsby nor any other running back on the roster will struggle to see enough volume to attain fantasy relevance.

Shipley landed with the Eagles in the fourth round of the 2024 Draft, coming out of Clemson after three straight seasons with at least 165 touches, 855 yards from scrimmage and seven touchdowns. His second season for the Tigers was much better than his third, but Shipley salvaged his draft stock with a 4.44 40 and strong jumps at his pro day. In Philadelphia, the rookie will compete with longtime backup Kenneth Gainwell for the No. 2 depth chart spot behind workhorse Saquon Barkley. While Shipley has the advantage in terms of athleticism, Gainwell's familiarity with the offense and solid pass-game skills mean he won't be a total pushover. However the competition plays out, both Shipley and Gainwell would figure to be involved in the offense if Barkley were to miss time.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Set to take on RB2 duties
With Kenneth Gainwell signing with the Steelers in March, Jimmy Kepski of the Philly Voice believes Shipley has the tools and skillset to step up as the Eagles' No. 2 running back behind Saquon Barkley heading into the 2025 season.
ANALYSIS
Shipley, the Eagles' fourth-round pick of the 2024 NFL Draft, was mostly limited to garbage time in blowout wins. He finished the 2024 regular season with 30 carries for 82 yards and four catches on as many targets for 35 yards across 16 games. With Gainwell leaving in free agency and Barkley having 480 touches across 20 games -- including playoffs -- last season, Kepski believes Shipley will be utilized far more often in the Eagles' offense during the 2025 campaign while veteran AJ Dillon serves as the bruising RB3.
