Gets permission to seek trade
The Bengals informed Henderson on Thursday that he may seek a trade, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Hendrickson, who is currently entering the final year of his deal with Cincinnati, led the NFL with 17.5 sacks in 2024 and will doubtless command a sizeable trade market from teams in need of a premier edge rusher. While the Bengals have faced pressure, including from quarterback Joe Burrow, to work out long-term deals with all of Hendrickson, Tee Higgins (who received the franchise tag) and Ja'Marr Chase (who is set to play out 2025 on his fifth-year option), the team is at least open to moving on from the 30-year-old All-Pro. Hendrickson has 35 sacks over the past two seasons and is doubtless vying for a new contract extension with a total value matching the other top playmakers at his position.

A third-down back no more: Jaylen Warren should be the next starting runner in Pittsburgh with Najee Harris off to the Chargers.

In the IDP Fallers category, E.J. Speed tallied only five tackles against the Giants Week 18 after a one-game absence.

The strength of the Bengals is their passing attack, but running back Chase Brown could be the team's leading producer from scrimmage Monday.

Now that he's off the injury report, Mike Evans should be set up for a strong game against Las Vegas.
Past Fantasy Outlooks
2024
2022
2021
Hendrickson had the best season of his career in 2023 by nearly any measure. That began with his ability to stay on the field, as he managed to play a full season for the first time since 2021. The result was a career-high 714 defensive snaps, 17.5 sacks and 43 total tackles. Hendrickson's calling card remains his ability as a pass rusher, and he's finished no worse than 11th in quarterback pressures in each of the last three years (per PFF). While he's unlikely to replicate his sack total from last season, his ability to get to the quarterback consistently illustrates his ability to disrupt offenses and rack up production. Hendrickson's limitations as a defender against the run will cut out some of his upside relative to the elite defensive lineman, but there will be a nearly guaranteed level of production for anyone rostering him.

Trade off the table
The Bengals are no longer interested in trading Hendrickson, Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
The Bengals have already had an eventful offseason by reaching long-term agreements with both Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. That would seem to leave them with no cap room left over for a Hendrickson extension, and the team briefly granted him permission to seek a trade. However, Cincinnati has progressively changed its tone on contract negotiations with the star pass rusher, and it appears he could also wind up remaining a Bengal for the long term.
