Rest-of-Season Projections
Won't play Sunday
Sewell (elbow) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Steelers.
ANALYSIS
Sewell didn't practice all week after likely sustaining an elbow injury in the Bears' Week 11 win over the Vikings, so it's no surprise that he won't suit up Sunday. The Oregon product has been one of Chicago's top defenders this season, recording 55 total tackles and one forced fumble over nine appearances. While he's out in Week 12, expect D'Marco Jackson to have an expanded role in the Bears' linebacker corps.

The Bears selected Sewell in the fifth round of the 2023 draft to help provide depth to a linebacking group that needed an overhaul. Sewell projects to be more of a run stopper than a pass defender. However, after Chicago added T.J. Edwards and Tremaine Edmunds to go with holdover Jack Sanborn, Sewell will likely play rotational snaps to provide depth. Should the team deal with injuries at linebacker, Sewell may be best suited to play on the interior.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Sitting out Week 12
Sewell will sit out Sunday's game against the Steelers due to an elbow injury, Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Sewell recorded a team-high 10 tackles in the Week 11 win over the Vikings, but he sustained the elbow injury in the process. The third-year pro's absence against Pittsburgh projects as impactful not only because of Sewell's 55 total tackles through nine games, but due to the fact he'll be one of three starting linebackers unavailable for Chicago.
