2025 Fantasy Outlook
Cross spent the first two years of his career primarily on playing special teams, but the Colts sought to upgrade on the play of Rodney Thomas at free safety heading into 2024. Cross won that competition convincingly and played 100 percent of defensive snaps in all but one game (he played 99 percent of snaps in Week 2) and finished ninth in the league with 146 tackles. Cross will remain a key cog in the Colts' defense and should continue to rack up tackles, with the offseason addition of Cameron Bynum being particularly impactful. Bynum will play a traditional center-field role while allowing Cross to step inside the box to support the run defense -- his primary strength. In 2024, he ranked fourth in run stuffs among safeties (per PFF) with 26, and he should have the chance to maintain and potentially even build on that number in 2025. Read Past Outlooks

Cross began his sophomore season playing mostly on special teams, but he increased his role on defense after Indianapolis' bye in Week 11. He then stepped into a starting role for the final three games of the season due to an injury to Julian Blackmon (shoulder). He ended up racking up 39 tackles (24 solo), two pass breakups and one interception in 17 games. He'll compete with Rodney Thomas and Daniel Scott for the starting free safety job alongside strong safety Julian Blackmon.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Could stick with Colts
Aaron Schatz of ESPN suggests that the Colts will re-sign Cross to a long-term extension this offseason.
ANALYSIS
Cross established himself as one of the best box safeties in the league across the second half of his rookie contract, racking up 146 and 120 tackles the last two seasons. He's set to hit free agency this offseason, though the depressed market for safeties could keep his contract demands in check. Cross's return would give the Colts a solid trio in their secondary with Sauce Gardner and Camryn Bynum also under contract in 2026.
