Joins Broncos' practice squad
Lewis signed with the Broncos' practice squad Wednesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
The 41-year-old is expected to provide depth at tight end, as Lucas Krull (foot) and Nate Adkins (knee) are both currently dealing with injuries. Lewis appeared in 17 games for the Bears in 2024, catching his lone target for two yards across 260 total snaps (209 on offense, 51 on special teams).

Lewis appeared in every game the Packers played last season and was the team's primary blocker at the tight end position. The 214 receiving yards he finished with were nearly as many as he put up over his first three years in Green Bay, but even then his fantasy impact was minimal. Lewis will be back with the Packers in 2022 and figures to hold down the same role he filled in years past.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Could set TE age record
Lewis would become the oldest tight end to appear in an NFL game if he suits up for the Broncos after joining Denver's practice squad Wednesday, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.
ANALYSIS
Lewis would be the first player at his position to play in the NFL at age 41 or older if he suits up for Denver. The Broncos will be without Lucas Krull and could be without Nate Adkins due to their respective foot and knee injuries in Week 9 against the Texans, in which case Lewis could be elevated to provide depth behind Evan Engram and Adam Trautman.
