2025 Fantasy Outlook
Floyd was a cap casualty in San Francisco this offseason but quickly signed a one-year, $10 million deal in Atlanta, replacing Matthew Judon. Floyd has at least 8.5 sacks in five straight seasons with three different teams (Rams, Bills, 49ers) and two double-digit sack campaigns in his nine-year career. The Falcons drafted rookies James Pearce and Jalon Walker in the first round to bolster their lackluster pass rush, which had the second-fewest sacks (31) in 2024 and was led by Arnold Ebiketie (six). Floyd will lead the new-look group in 2025 and hasn't missed a game since 2017. Read Past Outlooks
Still absent
Floyd (hamstring) did not practice Wednesday, Tori McElhaney of the Falcons' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Floyd was held out of Atlanta's Week 10 loss to the Colts and remains sidelined to begin the next week of preparation. That doesn't bode well for his availability in Week 11 against the Panthers, though his status should become clearer as the week progresses.

Floyd took on a pass-rush specialist role in his lone year with Buffalo, which helped him match a career-best mark of 10.5 sacks but also limited him to a career-worst 32 tackles. After signing a two-year, $20 million deal to head west and join the 49ers this offseason, Floyd should be projected to return to more well-rounded usage. So long as Nick Bosa is on the field, it's a near guarantee that Floyd won't be double-teamed, which should keep him in line for double-digit sacks even as he enters his age-31 season.

Underrated free-agent addition
Floyd is deemed a potentially underrated free-agent signing for the 49ers by Bucky Brooks of NFL.com.
ANALYSIS
The veteran pass rusher inked a two-year deal worth up to $24 million with $12 million guaranteed on March 11. With no fewer than 9.0 sacks in any season since 2019, Floyd could be the ideal fit for a 49ers defense trying to generate more pressure without having to blitz as often next season, especially because he should have a chance for plenty of 1-on-1 matchups playing alongside Nick Bosa.
