2025 Fantasy Outlook
Ransom, a 2025 fourth-round pick from Ohio State, ended his collegiate career with a National Championship, recording 76 total tackles, including nine tackles for loss, one interception and a Big 10-leading three forced fumbles across 15 games. The physical safety is expected to begin the 2025 season as one of the Panthers' top backup defensive backs but could see increased playing time as he gets adjusted to the NFL. Read Past Outlooks
Dealing with thumb injury
Head coach Dave Canales told reporters Monday that Ransom sustained a thumb injury in Sunday's 31-28 win over the Rams, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
With Tre'von Moehrig suspended for the Week 13 contest, Ransom drew the start and performed phenomenally, recording 11 total tackles, including 1.0 sacks. However, it now appears he's sustained a thumb injury in the process, and the Panthers are still looking into various treatment options and timelines. Carolina has a Week 14 bye, which may give the rookie safety enough time to recover ahead of the Week 15 matchup against the Saints.

Ransom has had a strong training camp and looked good in Carolina's preseason opener against the Browns. The rookie fourth-round pick is making a push to unseat Nick Scott, who made four starts for Carolina in 2024. Ransom will look to continue his ascent in the Panthers' second preseason game against Houston.
