2025 Fantasy Outlook
Wiley is working his way back from an ACL tear sustained November of 2024, an injury severe enough to likely limit his 2025 production significantly. The 2024 fourth-round pick saw action in just seven regular-season games as a rookie, in which span he caught just one target for seven yards but contributed as a blocker on offense in a relatively consistent reserve role. Once fully healthy, Wiley will compete with Robert Tonyan for depth snaps behind Travis Kelce and Noah Gray. Read Past Outlooks

Working with knee brace
Wiley (ACL) is participating in positional drills at mandatory minicamp Tuesday with a brace on his right knee, Sports Radio 810 WHB reports.
ANALYSIS
Head coach Andy Reid said in April that Wiley, who tore his ACL last November, is doing well in his recovery. It's encouraging that he's already taking part in individual drills, but the 2024 fourth-round pick may not be fully cleared for training camp or Week 1. Noah Gray remains positioned as the No. 2 tight end behind Travis Kelce for Kansas City, so once fully recovered Wiley will likely find himself competing with Robert Tonyan for the No. 3 spot.

With Travis Kelce likely in the twilight years of his career, the Chiefs selected Wiley in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, likely to bolster their future options at tight end. Noah Gray, a fifth-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, has served in the top backup role the past couple of seasons, but his rookie deal expires after the 2024 season, and it's unclear if the team wants to invest in him long-term. Wiley turned in 47 grabs for 520 yards and eight touchdowns last year with TCU but is likely positioned for a depth role with Kansas City in 2024, aiming to contribute down the road.

Impressed Mahomes in OTAs
Wiley stood out in spring practices and impressed Patrick Mahomes with his mix of athleticism and playmaking ability, per Nate Taylor of The Athletic. "The more he gets down the field, he can really make those tough, contested catches," Mahomes said of Wiley. "I want him to play even more physical. I know it's hard in OTAs. You can't really bump, but I think he can make those tough catches in the middle of the field. He's faster than people think he is."
