2025 Projections
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Barron was the Broncos' first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, solidifying an already strong Denver secondary. The Texas product won the Jim Thorpe Award in 2024, given to the best defensive back in the country. With a mix of impressive coverage instincts and solid tackling skills, Barron figures to be a contributor right away as a slot corner. The rookie plays beyond his 5-11, 194-pound frame and he'll join an experienced Broncos' cornerback room featuring Patrick Surtain and Riley Moss, a context that should aid his development early on. Joins Denver's secondary
The Broncos selected Barron in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 20th overall.
ANALYSIS
Denver's secondary gets even stronger with the addition of Barron out of Texas. Though a bit undersized to stick on the boundary at 5-foot-11 and 194 pounds, Barron has great coverage instincts and punches above his weight as a tackler. He broke up 16 passes and picked off five in 2024 en route to winning the Jim Thorpe Award, given to the best defensive back in the country. Slot corner looks to be his best fit in Denver's secondary, where he can be a plug-and-play fixture right away.

Signs rookie deal Wednesday
Barron reported to Broncos training camp with his fellow rookies Wednesday after agreeing to a four-year deal worth just over $18 million, Jeff Legwold of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Barron, the 20th overall pick of the 2025 NFL Draft, also received a signing bonus of $9.8 million. The versatile Texas product, who played cornerback, nickelback, safety and even linebacker during his college days, has primarily worked at cornerback thus far throughout the offseason but is still likely to be utilized in a variety of ways in coordinator Vance Joseph's defensive scheme.
