Kampmoyer played three snaps during the 2021 NFL season after he was signed by the Chargers as an undrafted free agent in May of 2021. The 6-foot-4, 243-pound tight end played a reserve role during his rookie season as he was on the team's practice squad up until Week 17 when Los Angeles was down both Jared Cook and Donald Parham. Expect the backup tight end to compete for one of the team's final spots on the active roster.

Kampmoyer was one of seven players that attended Denver's minicamp on a tryout basis, but linebacker Andre Smith was the only player out of that group to subsequently sign with the team. Kampmoyer has just two regular-season NFL appearances under his belt, and the former Chargers tight end will likely have to look elsewhere for an opportunity during training camp.
