Rest-of-Season Projections
2024 Fantasy Outlook
Warner is the epitome of stability at the linebacker position, as he's tallied at least 115 tackles in every season of his career and has three straight seasons of at least 130 stops. He has always excelled in coverage in addition to stopping the run, but Warner has taken on additional responsibility as a defender against the pass in the last two seasons. He's managed a combined 21 passes defensed in that span, and he picked off four passes in 2023. That may not be repeatable, but Warner is among the safest projections at linebacker and is a well-rounded source of production. Read Past Outlooks
Has monster day in Minneapolis
Warner recorded nine tackles (seven solo) including 1.0 sacks, an interception, and two forced fumbles during Sunday's 23-17 loss at Minnesota.
ANALYSIS
Warner has a strong case as an early Defensive Player of the Year candidate after a Week 2 loss that would not have been as close as it was without his spectacular showing. One of his forced fumbles came inside the 49ers' own five-yard line late in the third quarter and kept Minnesota from extending its lead to three scores. He's an elite IDP option as long as he's healthy.

Warner has been the model of consistency since entering the league, as he has played between 916 and 1,061 snaps while tallying between 118 and 137 tackles. While he doesn't supplement that with much in terms of pass rush, Warner has also established him as a solid coverage linebacker, breaking up at least six passes in four of his five years as a pro. There may not be much more upside in his profile, but there's also very little to complain about his proven level of production.

Ready to roll for divisional round
Warner, who sprained his ankle in the wild-card win over the Cowboys, is off the final injury report ahead of Saturday night's divisional-round matchup against the Packers, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Warner's ankle injury occurred with just under nine minutes remaining against the Cowboys, but by Monday morning, the veteran linebacker received confirmation his sprain was not of the high-ankle variety. At that point, Warner publicly proclaimed via social media he expected to play against Green Bay, and his ability to practice fully Wednesday and Thursday validated that optimism.
