2024 Fantasy Outlook
The Texans had a couple of productive defense tackles in 2023 but opted to move on from Sheldon Rankins and Maliek Collins. To help shore up the middle, Houston signed Fatukasi, a run stopper who played for Jacksonville last season and spent time with the Jets under current Texans defensive coordinator Matt Burke. Fatukasi doesn't get to the quarterback much and is expected to be part of a three-man rotation. Read Past Outlooks

December 19, 2024
Fatukasi (ankle) did not practice Thursday and has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Chiefs.
ANALYSIS
Fatukasi injured his ankle during the first half of the Texans' 20-12 win over the Dolphins this past Sunday. The injury prevented him from participating in practice all week, and his next opportunity to play will be Christmas Day against the Ravens. Tim Settle, Mario Edwards and Tommy Togiai will all see increased snaps at defensive tackle Saturday due to Fatukasi's injury.

2024 Jacksonville Jaguars Preview: Roster Moves, Depth Chart, Schedule, Storylines and More
148 days ago
The Jaguars locked in franchise QB Trevor Lawrence to a long-term deal this offseason, ensuring he'll be around for years to come. In the short term, though, he'll be looking to bounce back from an uneven 2023.
Past Fantasy Outlooks
2023
2021
Fatukasi joined Jacksonville on a three-year, $30 million deal in March of 2022 and totaled 24 tackles (13 solo), 1.5 sacks and three passes defensed in 14 games. He should play a significant role in the defensive line rotation again in 2023.
Fatukasi racked up 42 tackles and two sacks in 15 games (eight starts) for the Jets last season. The 2018 sixth-round pick's role will likely shrink after New York beefed up its defensive line in free agency.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Could be seeking around $8 million
DTNew York Jets
February 13, 2022
Fatuaksi is thought to be looking for around $8 million per season on his next contract, according to Rich Cimini of ESPN.
ANALYSIS
Cimini is unsure if the Jets will be willing to meet that asking price for the 27-year-old defensive lineman. On one hand, Fatukasi didn't register a sack last season, and the Jets already are paying big money to Carl Lawson, Quinnen Williams and John Franklin-Myers on the defensive line. On the other, Fatukasi grades out as one of the league's best run defenders, and a New York defense that ranked among the worst in the league at defending the run last season can ill afford to lose one of its few bright spots in that regard.
