Undrafted in 2023 out of Northern Colorado, Dotson parlayed a strong preseason into a roster spot with the Chargers, but after seeing limited action through the first four weeks he was sent to the practice squad and never resurfaced. Dotson showed a well-rounded skill set in college that included some explosiveness as a kick returner, but a lack of standout athletic traits could limit his ability to contribute in the NFL. Dotson managed to catch on with the Chargers' 53-man roster in 2023 after a productive preseason, but he wasn't able to replicate that success this time around. He finished the season with 38 rushing yards on 11 carries and ultimately wasn't able to stick around in a depth backfield role. Should he clear waivers, Dotson could sign to the Chargers' practice squad or search for opportunities elsewhere.
