Rest-of-Season Projections
2024 Fantasy Outlook
Pineiro made 90.6 percent of his field-goal attempts and 90.4 percent of PATs over the past two seasons in Carolina, rebounding nicely after bouncing around the league from 2019 to 2021. He missed the final two games of 2023 with a hamstring injury and finished 27th among kickers in fantasy points, attempting just 20 PATs all year (and missing three). Pineiro should keep the job in 2024, but any chance at relevance requires a massive step forward for the Carolina offense in Year 2 with Bryce Young at quarterback and Year 1 of Dave Canales' coaching tenure. Drills four kicks in Week 4
Pineiro converted his one field-goal attempt while making all three of his extra-point tries during Sunday's 34-24 loss to the Bengals.
ANALYSIS
Pineiro has yet to miss a kick through four weeks, as the 29-year-old is now six-for-six on field-goal attempts and seven-for-seven on extra-point tries. He split the uprights on his longest kick of the year Sunday, a 48-yard field goal to cut Cincinnati's lead to seven points in the fourth quarter. Pineiro is projected to continue seeing increased kicking opportunities with Andy Dalton remaining the Panthers' starting quarterback in Week 5.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2023
2022
2020
2019
Pineiro bounced around the league for a few years before seemingly finding a home in 2022 in Carolina, where he converted 33 of 35 FGAs and 30 of 32 PATs. The Panthers signed him to a two-year contract in March, so job security at least isn't an issue. The problem for fantasy is the combination of a new coach, rookie QB and subpar pass catchers. While they might compete in a weak NFC South, the Panthers aren't likely to be an especially strong or high-scoring team, and Pineiro's one impressive season doesn't necessarily prove he's among the top kickers in the league.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Gets commitment from Carolina
Pineiro signed a two-year deal with the Panthers on Thursday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Pineiro has now parlayed a last-minute opportunity before the 2022 regular season into a multi-year contract. The Florida product slotted in as Zane Gonzalez's replacement when the latter went down with a season-ending core injury in August, and he was able to convert 33 of 35 field-goal attempts and 30 of 32 extra-point tries across 17 games. Pineiro won't have to worry about Gonzalez staging a comeback bid at the job, either, as Carolina reportedly released the 27-year-old Thursday.
