2024 Fantasy Outlook
Buckner has one thing that few other defensive lineman, particularly interior lineman, can boast in that he's topped 800 defensive snaps in seven of his eight professional seasons. From a durability and pass rushing perspective Buckner has shown no signs of slowing down even as he enters his age 30-season. The only area we've seen any hint of him being on the backside of his career is on special teams, as his snaps on the unit have all but disappeared across the last two seasons. That hasn't been enough to hurt his statline, though and the Colts inked Buckner to a lucrative new two-year deal this offseason, reiterating their faith in him. Buckner won't remain an elite defensive lineman forever, but we've seen nothing to suggest that 2024 is the year his run ends. Read Past Outlooks
Production hurt by injury in 2024
Buckner tallied 61 tackles, including 6.5 sacks, along with a defensed pass over 12 games during the regular season.
ANALYSIS
After playing in every regular-season game for Indianapolis during the previous three campaigns, Buckner missed five contests in 2024 due to an ankle injury. He remained productive when healthy, though, ranking second on the Colts in sacks and finishing with just 1.5 fewer than he logged in each of the previous two seasons. Buckner signed a two-year contract extension last April and should be a vital part of Indianapolis' defensive line again in 2025.

The veteran defensive tackle put together another outstanding campaign, recording a career-high 74 tackles last year while piling up at least seven sacks for the fifth consecutive season. Buckner's combination of interior pass rush skills, run-stuffing and consistency (he's missed only two games in a seven-year career) are unmatched at his position, but at 29 it's fair to wonder how much longer he can keep going to war in the trenches without slipping. The Colts scaled back Buckner's snaps on special teams last year, and they could keep an even closer eye on his workload in 2023.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Team cautious with injury
Coach Frank Reich said that Buckner experienced soreness and swelling in his ankle following last Sunday's 27-20 win over the Texans, Kevin Bowen of Indianapolis' 107.5 The Fan reports.
ANALYSIS
Buckner may have experienced after-effects of a physical Week 15 effort, but he didn't seem to be beleaguered by his ankle issue in-game. The 2018 Pro Bowler racked up three sacks against the division-rival Texans, providing him with five total sacks over his past three games. Based on the clarification Reich provided on his star defender's status, it appears Buckner has a chance to suit up Week 16 against Pittsburgh despite missing Wednesday's practice.
